As I walk into the grounds towards the allotments, through the main metal gates and straight in front of me, under the trees is a bed of crocuses. Pink and white.
They are flowering earlier each year. It’s official. In the 1950s they flowered mid-March. Now, they are flowering late February and early March, that’s around 2 weeks earlier. Global warming? Maybe.
They are a fantastic sight however early they bloom. And they are a good sign for planting in the allotments.
